This 2 Days Congo Eastern Lowland Gorilla Tour starts and ends in Kigali, Rwanda’s Capital. You will visit and trek the unique gorilla subspecies, the eastern lowland gorillas residing in Congo.

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bukavu in DR Congo

On your first day of the 2 Days Congo Eastern lowland Gorilla tour, you will meet with your guide from VIsit and Tour Rwanda at the airport and Immediately, you will transfer to Bukavu which is at the Rwanda/DRC border opposite the town of Cyagungu. On your journey to reach Bukavu, you will cruise past the Butare town where art meets creativity, and this is why it is known as the Intellectual Center of Rwanda. Here you will take lunch at a local Rwandese restaurant, and if time permits you can see some of the many cultural attractions in the city, such as the University, Genocide Memorial Site or even the local market and craft workshops. On reaching Changugu, you will cross into the DRC and stop at Bukavu town where you will be escorted by our tour guide to book for your accommodation where you will have dinner waiting for the next day gorilla tour.

Day 2: Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trekking in Congo, Depart to Kigali

After an early breakfast, your tour guide will drive you to arrive at the Headquarters of the Kahuzi-Biega National Park, driving past the cool breeze waters of Lake Kivu. Upon arrival, you will register for your Gorilla Trekking and be briefed about the whole Dos and Don’ts of the trek then be assigned a gorilla group and a park ranger guide to begin your gorilla trek searching for the Eastern Lowland Gorillas.

Immediately after finishing off your Eastern Lowland Gorilla Tour, Safari, you will meet up with your guide and get transferred to the lodge for your waiting lunch and later take a journey back to Kigali dropping off at your hotel or at the airport for a scheduled flight back home. If time permits, your guide will take you on a tour of the cultural sites in Kigali, including the Genocide Memorial Center.
