5 Days Uganda Gorillas and Chimpanzee Safari

The 5 Days Uganda Gorillas and Chimpanzee Safari is a special Uganda Primates safari designed to fit in your trip budget plan starting in Kampala Uganda and still ending in Uganda. On this Uganda gorillas and chimpanzee safari, you will track the chimpanzees of Kibale Forest National park and have the final days experience with the ultimate gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 1: Arrive in Uganda, Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

This is how we start the 5 Days Uganda Gorillas and Chimpanzee Safari. Upon arrival in Uganda, the pearl of Africa, you will be met at the airport by our driver/guide to brief you about the whole safari highlights before a journey transfer to Kibale forest national park via the Mityana-Fortportal highway with a stopover in Fortportal town for your lunch treatment. After a local experience with the community of Fortportal, we shall then Proceed to Kibale forest arriving in the late afternoon to check in at the lodge for our dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest Park

On the second of your Uganda Gorillas and Chimpanzee Safari, you will wake up early in the morning to get ready for the chimpanzee tracking experience starting in Kanyanchu for the Kibale primates walk. The chimpanzee tracking activity lasts for about 1-4 hours of the day, and besides the chimpanzees, there are several other primates to find in the forest such as the L’Hoest monkey, baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, red colobus, and so on.

After the chimpanzee trekking activity, you will retire at Kanyanchu rest camp to have lunch and later take a guided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for birders. The Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek can easily be marked among the other bird 137 species. There is also an array of butterfly species. Later return for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today, we shall take on our third day of the 5 Days Uganda gorillas and chimpanzee safari getting on a journey transfer from Kibale to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park through the Ishasha Sector where we get a chance to sight the tree-climbing lions. We finnaly arrive in Bwindi, the land of Mountain Gorillas and then later checking at the lodge for Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park

Wake up to a sumptuous energetic breakfast then head on to the park headquarters with packed lunch for a crucial gorilla trekking briefing before hiking into the jungle of the thick impenetrable forests of Bwindi to trek the gorilla group you were assigned at the time of the briefing. Upon finding the gorillas, you are permitted a maximum of 1 hour to be with the gorillas as the guides lead you through the whole process of answering your questions, and so on.

After the trek, you can opt to proceed with a nature walk and forest trail, if your physical fitness is still strong. The nature walk will lead you through to the local Batwa community where you will visit and tour the local shops, children’s school, cultural communities, among others.
Return for dinner and overnight at the previous lodge.

Day 5: Transfer Back to Kampala

The final of your 5 Days Uganda gorillas and Chimpanzee Safari will start with a morning breakfast at 8:00 am after which you get a journey transfer back to Kampala with lunch en-route in Mbarara town. The final drop-off will be at the airport or preferred hotel in Kampala.
