Ndali Lodge is a fantastic traditional colonial lodge located in Western Uganda in Kabarole district in the Crater Lake region. The lodge offers a visitors stunning view to Nyinambuga Crater Lake and Mountains Rwenzori (The Mountains of the moon) to the west.
The Lodge sits at the center of 1000 acres of privately owned fertile farmland still cultivated in a traditional style and is perfectly situated for viewing a mass of wildlife and flora and the local cultural attractions.
Ndali lodge has eight individual cottages all of which offer panoramic views of the Rwenzori Mountains and Queen Elizabeth National Park, are built of local stone and thatch and are lit by solar energy. Each cottage, large enough to accommodate a family, has en suite bathroom facilities and have private verandas, so at the end of the day, you can watch the sun setting behind the snow-capped mountain Rwenzori. The honeymoon cottage has a larger bathtub with a connected shower.
The reception, sitting and dining room open out onto views of the lake and comprise three thatched cottages connected by two open passageways, which fruit bats, owls and frogs also like to use as a highway to the Crater Lake! Relax in the double-volume sitting room decorated with comfortable wicker chairs, or out on the terrace taking in the marvelous views.
Activities at Ndali Lodge include farm tours, trips to Mahoma waterfall, boat trips, lake swimming, chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park (45 minutes away) and excursions into the Bigodi wetlands.
The lodge prides itself on its informal, homely atmosphere which is enhanced by the staff who come from local farms and villages and are professionally trained by the lodge. This is a great base from where to track the chimpanzees of Kibale Forest.
