9 Days Uganda Tour, Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Experience

This amazing Uganda tour package starts and ends in Uganda with remarkable visits to Lake Mburo National Park for game drives, the Queen Elizabeth National Park for wild game and impressive aquatics such as the Nile crocodiles and Hippos, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for remarkable gorilla trekking and the Mgahinga gorilla national park for the golden monkeys tracking.

9 Days Uganda Tour, Gorillas, and Wildlife Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrival in Kampala, Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

As early as 7:00 am, our driver will pick you up from Kampala/Entebbe Airport to get on a scenic journey drive of 4-5 hours till we arrive in Lake Mburo National Park. Along the way, we will have a stopover at the drum makers center called Mpambire and another stopover at the Equator for memorable photographic moments. On arrival at the park, we will check-in and have lunch at the lodge before an afternoon game drive experience in the park on the lookout for the different animals like the Zebras (very common) that are found almost everywhere in the park.

We then go for the boat cruise on Lake Mburo searching for other wildlife animals that include the Hippos, Crocodiles, Elands, Sitatungas and Monitor lizards among others. We also expect to see a variety of birdlife including the rare African Finfoot. We come back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Lake Mburo National Park

The day begins early with a Nature walk safari on shores of Lake Mburo in search for the wildlife that includes The Zebras, Impalas, Reedbuck, Cliffspringers, Buffaloes, and Leopards among other mammals and a variety of birdlife that includes the Papyrus Gonolake. We go back to the Lodge for breakfast, relax around, have lunch and in the afternoon go for the boat cruise on Lake Mburo for yet another view of wildlife as they come to cool off at the Lake. This normally takes 2 hours of the game experience before getting back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Lake Mburo – Mgahinga Gorilla National park.

After breakfast in the morning, we exit lake Mburo National park transferring to Mgahinga National park with a stopover in Kabale town for lunch, we later proceed on to Kisoro arriving in the evening and check in to the service of Travelers’ Inn Kisoro and have the evening at leisure, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Tracking in Mgahinga

After breakfast at the lodge, we will transfer to Mgahinga National Park headquarters to trek the Virunga mountains range in search of golden monkeys, visit Garama cave, among other activities. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, with our packed lunch, we transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park passing through the Ecuya Forest and the Ruhija sector of Bwindi Forest, arriving Bohoma in the afternoon and check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, with your packed lunch, we assemble at the park headquarters for registration and briefing before you begin the gorilla trekking. It may take about 2 – 8 hours to trek the gorillas. You should prepare to walk for a long distance, under steep and muddy conditions and sometimes with rain overhead before encountering any gorilla. The time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour due to conservation purposes.

After the trekking, you will retire at the lodge to share experiences with other trekkers from different other gorilla groups and later in the evening take a cultural village walk in various communities such as in Batwa community where you will interact with them and learn a lot from them before dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, we transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park passing through the Ishasha sector well known for tree climbing lions. Proceed to Mweya Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Game Drives & Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, the eighth day of your 9 Days Uganda tour will take you for an early morning game drive in the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth national park to have a chance of seeing the morning risers like the lions and leopards chasing after their prey, the solitary buffaloes, kobs, elephants, etc. It is such a great and exciting time as you can easily see these animals closely.

 

Later in the day, you will retire at the lodge for lunch and get prepared for the scenic boat trip along the Kazinga Channel which is home to various species like birds such as malachite kingfishers, pink-backed pelicans, and animals like crocodiles, elephants, hippos and many more. Basically cruising on the Kazinga is one of the most eye-catching activities in the park. Have Dinner and Overnight at your lodge in the park.

Day 9: Transfer Back to Kampala

After breakfast, (according to the time of your flight) you will transfer to Kampala in a scenic picturesque journey with amazing stopovers at the equator for photographic moments. Upon arrival in Kampala, Our guide will choose to drop you off at the airport or hotel of residence depending on your travel arrangements. That will mark the end of your 9 Days Uganda tour experience, gorilla trekking, and Wildlife Safari. We wish you the best of your flight journey back home.
