Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at the Airport
Upon your arrival in Bujumbura in the morning, you will have a cultural tour around Bujumbura in the morning. After the safari, you will continue for a visit to Rusizi National Park for a boat cruise in Rusizi River to explore wildlife in this lake like the Hippos, birds and the joining point between Rusizi River and Lake Tanganyika. The Belvedere hike offers am amazing view of Bujumbura city and the independence monument. Proceed to explore memorial a huge rock in the suburbs of Bujumbura commemorating the meeting between Stanley and Livingstone. Dinner and overnight at Club Du Lac Tanganyika Hotel.
Day 2: Visit to the Source of the Nile/Waterfalls
Have breakfast and then proceed to the source of the Nile and then Karera waterfalls. Enjoy the magnificent tea plantations and the landscapes. All these make you carry your camera ready to take photos.Later, visit the waterfalls and after drive to Gitega. This is the second town and colonial capital of Burundi. You will also visit Gitega National Museum with its collection of art crafts. Gitega city administrative offices, catholic location of Mushasha and its local different schools. Overnight at Helena Hotel
Day 3: explore Burundi: Gitega – Gishora tour
After breakfast, you will visit the drum sanctuary of Gishora- Gishora. This is one of the famous drum sites of Burundi. The site also houses two ritual drums that were never beaten Ruciteme and Murimirwa. The two names are linked to the farming vocation and also refer to fertility, the king characteristic. Then later visit the drum sanctuary of Gishora in order to explore the cultural tradition of Burundi. Have lunch at Gitega city and then after take a city tour. This is the second largest town of the county with much colonial architecture. This also hosts the national museum with its ethnographic and Archeological collections. Then later drive to Biujumbura. Overnight at Club Du Lac Hotel
Day 4: Kigwena reserves- Rumonge Fishermen.
Have breakfast and then drive to Kigwena National Park for a walk in the forest in serach for its flora and fauna including; chimpanzees, species of Monkeys and baboons. Have lunch at Blue Bay and beach relaxation. Then drive back to Bujumbura. Overnight at Club Du Lac Tanganyika Hotel.
Day 5: Airport Transfer and Departure
Have breakfast and then transfer to the Airport for flight connections back home.
