Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Savour breakfast at your favourite safari lodge in Bwindi National Park. Afterwards, meet at the trailhead designated by your gorilla permit so that you may receive a briefing on the scheduled gorilla trekking at 6:30 am. During briefing time, you will be assigned to only one habituated gorilla family to hike in a group of 8 tourists and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has roughly 20 gorilla families that have been habituated and established for tourism. You will set out on a real walk with an armed park ranger guide at 8:00 am. It should be noted that the four primary gorilla trekking districts in Bwindi National Park, Ruhija, Buhoma, Nkuringo, and Rushaga sector, each home to habituated gorilla populations, are where gorilla treks begin.
Depending on the gorillas’ habitat, your physical condition, and the length of your trip, a mountain gorilla trek in Bwindi National Park could take anywhere from two to six hours. You will be rewarded for the two to six hours not only with amazing gorilla experiences but also with a variety of other animals, such as olive baboons, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, birds, butterflies, rare flora, and many more. You only have one hour after locating your gorilla family to meet them in person, snap pictures, and learn about their habits and body language.
Following your hour-long amazing experience, head back to the lodge for some relaxation before starting your evening community visit with the Batwa people. You will get the opportunity to converse with the famous Batwa pygmies, who have been hunting and gathering in the jungle for a long time. Enjoy the exhilarating cultural dances and music performances while on a community or cultural tour to the Batwa village.
