The safari starts and ends in Kigali Rwanda, you are to visit two national parks including; Volcanoes National Park as well as Akagera National Park. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon your arrival at the Airport, you are welcomed by the company guide who will then brief you about the safari. Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park is among the four parks where mountain gorillas are currently living. You will have a city tour where you are to visit the genocide memorial site, Kimirambo Women center, as well as Inema Arts Centre. Have lunch and then start your drive to Volcanoes National Park, where you will have dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & visit the Ibycwa community village
Tracking mountain gorillas in their natural habitat of Volcanoes National Park is a great experience that will stay with you every waking moment. Wake up early so that the driver transfers you to the briefing area at the park headquarters. Get to enjoy the traditional dances and coffee as you wait to receive the briefing from the ranger guide. You will be given information on the groups to trek and you transfer to meet your ranger guide. After the briefing, you start your trek into the jungles of volcanoes National Park. You are as well advised to take up a porter to help with your day pack and some of your gadgets. Once you meet the gentle giants, you will interact with them as you take some photos for strictly 1 hour.
After the trek, have lunch at the lodge and then proceed for a visit to the Ibycwa people and get to learn about their way of living as well as enjoying cultural performances like the local dances and songs. Later on return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight. Overnight as above.
Day 3: Drive to Akagera National Park & have an evening game drive
Have breakfast in the morning and then start your drive to Akagera National Park famous for variety of wildlife species. Upon your arrival, check in to the Lodge and have lunch as you prepare to have an evening game drive to view many animal species including; the zebras, lions, Rhinos, impalas, kobs, antelopes, birds, and many more.
Dinner and overnight at Rusizi Tented Safari Lodge (up market) Meal Plan: Full board.
Day 4: Have a morning boat cruise & drive back to Kigali city
Have breakfast in the morning and then proceed for a boat cruise on Lake Ihema to see some water animals including hippos, crocodiles, water birds and many more. After, return to the lodge for an early lunch. After, proceed with your drive back to Kigali to catch your departure flight back home.
