Virunga National Park is one of the oldest parks in Africa, covering approximately 7769 square kilometers, it is strategically placed in the great Albertine rift valley region, boating several animal and plant species, it involves most species of the Virunga volcanic region, the park was gazette in 1925 and declared a UNESCO world heritage site to protect the wildlife of the park, major popular activities are hiking the Nyiragongo crater and Mountain gorillas a subspecies of the eastern gorilla.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Congo
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by our company representative who will meet greet and brief you about the city tour after which you will start the day, visiting the Rwanda genocide memorial ground, after here you will reach for the main city market have lunch and transfer to the congo border where your accommodation has been booked for dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
Early morning breakfast after which our guide representative will transfer you to the park center for the days activity, meeting the gentle species is very entertaining as the young stars will keep jumping from one tree to another, feeding and living their life, one hour is allowed with the mountain gorillas, taking 2 or more hours doing the trekking depending on how far the gorilla families have moved to return to the lodge for relaxation as you enjoy the Virunga environment.

Day 3: Mount Nyiragongo Hike
Following an early morning breakfast, you will be picked to transfer to the park headquarters for the great hike to the Nyiragongo hike trekking to the summit takes 4-6 hours while you enjoy the forests walk, you feel free to hire a porter in case you need one, dinner will be served at the summit by the park team or you can carry your packed food

Day 4: Descend Nyiragongo – Transfer to Kigali international airport for departure
Breakfast and after which we will descend the volcano, you will have beautiful views of the Goma town, and the Virunga national park, arriving to meet our driver guide who will transfer you to Kigali to catch your flight back home.
